Located at Benson, the Portland Workforce Alliance (PWA) is an independent, nonprofit organization that was created in 2005. The goals of the Portland Workforce Alliance are to:
- Help provide the region with a skilled workforce.
- Partner with Business & Industry to educate students about career opportunities.
- Increase the high school graduation rate
The PWA accomplishes their goal through an array of career exploration programs such as:
- Worksite Tours
- Job Shadows
- Internships
- Classroom Presentations
- Mock Interviews
- Career Expo – Hosted at the Oregon Convention Center, the PWA Career Expo attracts 5,000 students annually who browse exhibits from local businesses and trade associations
